Biography:

My name is Samir Peoples, a 17-year-old athlete who joined Broad Run football my junior year. Growing up, I played the sport just for fun. It was my favorite activity in elementary school during recess and middle school when we would have free time on some days. There was always something so satisfying about making a play and working as a team that motivated me in wanting to take it to the next level. With that said, I knew that high school football would be completely different, and I never got the chance since a lot of things were thrown at me during my first two years.

With junior year, however, things began to change. My mom, being my biggest role model, always told me to step outside my comfort zone and embrace the challenge that comes with it, and it was because of her that I decided to take that leap of faith and join the team. Now, to this day, I am forever grateful that I can not only play football my junior and senior year, but also play alongside some of the best teammates ever. Although I may not continue football in college, my biggest goal is to take what I’ve learned from this sport and bring it with me for the rest of my life.
